James Robinson

James "Jim" Robinson, 75 year old resident of Cushing, MN passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, MN with Bob Mueller officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Monday and from 10-11 A.M. on Tuesday all at the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, MN. Caring for Jim and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, MN. Jim was born on January 12, 1951, in St. Peter, Minnesota, to the late Claire and Dorothy (Renaux) Robinson. He grew up in the Cushing area and attended elementary school in Randall before graduating from Little Falls High School with the Class of 1970. Following high school, Jim began working for Ballou Plumbing and Heating in Randall as a Master Plumber. He later continued his career at St. Gabriel’s Hospital, where he worked for more than 20 years and retired as Manager of the Engineering and Maintenance Department. Jim was united in marriage to his valentine Michelle Sanders on February 14, 1985, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Randall. In his free time, Jim enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, collecting and showing classic cars, searching for antiques, and attending auctions. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time outside with family and friends. Jim also enjoyed traveling, especially spending winters during retirement in South Padre Island, Texas with friends. He took great pride in his yard and home. Whether it was decorating for the holidays or caring for his apple trees, he always made sure everything was just right. He had a sweet tooth and especially enjoyed making homemade apple pies from the apples picked off his trees. Christmas was his favorite time of year, and he always went out of his way to make the season extra special for those he loved. Jim was active in his community and served on various boards throughout his life. He was a past president and trustee of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Randall, served on the Cushing Township Board, and was a past caretaker of Cushing Union Cemetery. Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his family, whom he dearly loved. He was dearly loved in return and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by wife, Michelle Robinson of Cushing, MN; children, Jamie (Jill Sauber) Robinson, Corey (Alina) Robinson, Adam (Tami) Schmidt, Kellie (Zackary) Schmidt, Karolene (Mark) Schuster; brothers, Gerry (Colleen) Robinson, Jay (Julie) Robinson; sisters, Patrice Ring, Krista (Brian) Peterschick, Cynda (Jesse) Turner and Nancy Petrich; grandchildren, Aften Robinson, Benet Robinson, Blake Robinson, Trinity Robinson, Ryan Schmidt, Justin Schmidt, Alexia Schmidt, Avery Schmidt, Addison Schuster. Jim was preceded in death by parents, Claire and Dorothy Robinson; siblings, Verlene Hallock, Carol (Jim) Honetschlager, Pam McKee, Katie LeMieur, Dennis (Ida) Robinson; brother-in-law, Bob Petrich; brother-in-law, Eldon “Brad” Sanders; sister-in-law, DeNae Samler; niece, Rebecca Turner and nephew, Tony LeMieur.
