Katherine Armbrust

Katherine M. Armbrust, 90 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, (February 23) at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN with Father Leo Moenkedick officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and from 10 to 11 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Church in Sobieski, MN. Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 PM followed by Parish Prayers at 6:15 PM on Friday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Katherine Armbrust was born on February 28, 1917 to the late Emanuel and Katherine Dukart in Dickinson, North Dakota. She was united in marriage to Anton Armbrust on November 20, 1939 in Dickinson, ND. She grew up on a farm near Dickinson, ND with 14 brothers and sisters, and became the family seamstress at a very young age. She and her husband moved to Sobieski, MN in 1949 and then to Little Falls after retirement. Katherine worked at Munsingerwear for several years also. She lived at Alverna Apartments before living at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Sewing continued to be her passion as she made her children’s clothing and many quilts. Katherine’s other hobbies included crocheting, playing cards, dancing and volunteering at the Senior Center, St. Otto’s, and Public Health. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was the best babysitter. Katherine is survived by son, Anthony (Judy) Armbrust of Little Falls, MN; daughters, Darlene (Harvard) Axel of Little Falls, MN, Agnes (Robert) Konrad of Mankato, MN, and Dianne (Bernard) Lodin of Backus, MN; brother, Mike Dukart of Medford, OR; sister, Minnie Sanek of Spokane, WA; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Katherine is preceded in death by, husband, Anton; grandchildren, Bryan Axel, Gregg Axel, and James Lodin; parents, Emanuel and Katherine Dukart; 12 brothers and sisters. Honorary Casketbearers: Granddaughters, Debra Quinn, Carla Fenske, Paula Meyer, Brenda Keenan, Lisa Perralta, Tamara Klein, Tina Lemi. Active Casketbearers: Grandsons, Scott Axel, Bruce Konrad, Steven & Neil Lodin, Todd Armbrust, and great-grandson Mitchell LeMieur
