Kathryn "Kitty" R. Verley

Kathryn "Kitty" R. Verley, 99 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Little Falls, MN. A funeral service will be on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Little Falls, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Steve Priola officiating. A visitation will be on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 P.M., at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, and again at the church from 10:00-11:00 A.M., on Friday, March 22. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Caring for Kitty and her family is the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Kathryn Rose Schuchard was born on November 16, 1924 in Wilmette, Il to the late Herman and Edna (LaFond) Schuchard. The family moved to Little Falls in March of 1931, where she attended country school and then Little Falls High School, where she dated Bob, the love of her life, after they met in 4H. On June 19, 1942, she was united in marriage to Robert Dale Verley right after high school graduation at First Baptist Church in Little Falls, MN. Kitty worked at Munsingwear during WWII while Bob was deployed. She also worked at Little Falls Red Owl, Lad-n-Lassie clothing, Metalcraft Roofing and Heating and was a secretary at First Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for almost 90 years, playing the organ for over 40 years. She also taught girls Sunday School classes and led the ladies ministry for many years. She led the choir as well as other music ministries. Her hobbies include gardening, quilting, cake decorating, diamond art, working puzzles and collecting elephants. Kitty dearly loved each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and prayed daily for them. She will be greatly missed, but we rejoice in knowing that we will see her again in Heaven. Kitty is survived by her son, Tim (Cheri) Verley; daughters, Gloria (Steve) Priola and Lesa Harmon; grandchildren, Trenton Verley, Troy Verley, Tyler Verley, Taryn (John) Garland, Ryan (Hailey) Priola, Cody (Laurel) Priola, Kristine (Teri) Averill and Justine Harmon; great-grandchildren, Carly Scherzer, Sophia Smith, Isla Verley, Ella Priola, Wyatt Priola, Cullen Priola, Noah Priola, Andrew Priola, Kaden Steele, Kelsey Appel, Ainsley Averill, Jasmine Harmon and Aubree Harmon Kitty was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Edna Schuchard; husband, Robert Verley; brother, Don Schuchard; sister, Jean Nantkes. A special thank you to the staff at Diamond Willow for all of their love and care for our mom.
