Lynda Larson

*In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Lynda’s name to Holy Cross Church* Lynda Larson, age 63, of Onamia, MN, passed away peacefully at home on December 8, 2024, with her loving husband, Steve, by her side. A visitation will be held from 12 PM – 2 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Onamia, with the Funeral Service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Lynda’s name to Holy Cross Church. Arrangements are with the LeMieur Funeral Home in Onamia. Lynda was born in Little Falls on June 21, 1961 to John and Elaine Hovland. She grew up in the Twin Cities and lived most of her adult life in Onamia. She loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Lynda married the love of her life, Steve, on August 18, 1993. She welcomed children throughout her life. She was intensely proud of them. She opened her home time and again to foster children in need. She talked about just loving on kids who needed her. Lynda loved her family. She had a passion for loving God, her family and all those around her. All who interacted with her felt her overflowing love. Her home was open to anyone, she welcomed each person with love. From her warm smile to her hospitality, she had a way of loving people that looked past faults and failures, seeing the spark of God in everyone. She would say “Find a smile in everyone and try to make the person feel loved.” She was a caring, kind, compassionate and a sweet soul that was full of joy and love during all seasons of life. Lynda provided such a safe space to freely be yourself with no fear of judgement. If you got deep and vulnerable with her, she in return got just as deep and vulnerable with you. She loved, baked, cooked, gardened, served, smiled and laughed her way through life. She loved flowers and shabby chic. Lynda had a desire to serve others. She enjoyed working with seniors through her work at Lake Song Assisted Living. After her diagnoses, she was able to spend time with those she loved. She was able to travel with Steve and her family to see the ocean, the mountains and redwoods. She saw God in all creation. She had a deep faith and love of God. Lynda faced many trials and challenges through her life. Lynda viewed these challenges as opportunities to add new tools to her toolbox of life skills. She loved sharing what she learned through the challenges. Lynda spent a lifetime loving others and learned through a transformative encounter with God how to love herself. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Amanda and brother John. Lynda is survived by her husband Steve, her sons: Rob, Matthew (Brandi) and Wyatt; her children in love: Jerry (Kathy), April (Ryan), Desari; grandchildren: Braydon, Jackson, Siera (Ryan), Shelby (Max), Jackson, Aubrey and Logan; great-grandson, Orlando along with her parents John and Elaine and siblings Laura (Clint), Jeff (Jennifer), Lisa (Jim), (Lane), Jay (Rachel).
