Marcy Broschofsky, 71 year old resident of Pierz, MN passed away Monday. September 24, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 28, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Father Ken Popp officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery in Pierz, MN. Friends may call from 4-8:30 P.M. on Thursday and from 9-10 A.M. on Friday at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN. Christian Mothers rosary will be prayed at 4:30 P.M. and Parish Prayers at 7 P.M. on Thursday at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel. Marcy Novak was born on September 27, 1940 in Benton County, Minnesota to William & Rose (Cielinski) Novak. She went to school in Foley. After high school, she worked at Airflow in Minneapolis. She was united in marriage to Herb Broschofsky on May 31, 1960 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, MN. They lived in North Minneapolis for a short time before making their home in Spring Lake Park, MN. They raised four children, Cherri, Susan, Betsy and Keith. They moved to Genola, MN in 1969 where they owned Genola Bar with Charlie & Delores Watercott. They moved to Pierz, MN in 1976 where Marcy did child care for many families in the area including most of her grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for each and every one of them. Marcy lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking, baking, collecting dolls, going on many trips and spending time at the casino. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and tried not to miss any gatherings. However, attending all of her grandchildren’s activities was her pride and Joy. They were all very precious to her. Her husband, Herb, was the love of her life. Marcy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Herb, children Cherri (Kenny) Funk, Susan (James) Kasper, Betsy (Greg) Fuhrman, Keith (Joanne) Broschofsky, twelve grandchildren, Scott, Kelsey, Brandon, Nicole, Kari, Krista, Kara, Erika, Kendra, Tarynn, Bethany and Kacy, four great grandchildren, Ellyse, Bradley, Aubree and Roman, sisters Lorraine Malisheski and Delores Watercott, brother-in-law Gene Chmieleski and many nieces and nephews. Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rose, brother Dominic, six sisters, Regina, Gertrude, Bridget, Josephine, Lillian and Janet, special nephews, Hilary “Chill” Helmin, Terry Novak and Jeffrey Montag. She will be truly missed by many but her memories will be with us forever.
