Marie Borash

Marie M. Borash, 90 year old resident of rural Little Falls, MN near Freedhem, passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday January 7th, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Burial will be at Holy Family Parish Cemetery in Belle Prairie. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, January 6th at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie and from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M Wednesday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 6 P.M. on Tuesday evening at the church. Marie Magdalena (Lutzke) Borash was born November 7th, 1918 near Freedhem to the late Frank & Magdalena Lutzke. She grew up on the family farm near Freedhem. After grade school she worked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at a hospital. She then moved back to the Little Falls area. Marie married Joseph Borash on May 13th, 1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Little Falls. The couple settled in Ripley Township, Morrison County, where they farmed. Marie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and playing cards. She was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Marie is survived by daughter, Shirley Borash of Little Falls, MN; sons, Joseph and wife, Marilyn Borash of Center City, MN, David Borash of St. Joseph, MN, Ronald Borash of St. Cloud, MN, Benedict and wife, Barbara of Little Falls, MN, Victor and wife, Cathy Borash of Pillager, MN, Bernard and wife, Ardyss of Brainerd, MN. Sylvester Borash of Little Falls, MN, Eugene Borash of Little Falls, MN, Leroy Borash of Little Falls, MN, John and wife, Grace Borash of Elk River, MN; grandchildren & great grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Boser of Pierz, MN and Hilda Poser of Little Falls, MN. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Borash on August 19th, 1993; parents; sisters, Martha, and Anna; brothers, Herman, Frank, Daniel, Rudolph, Joseph and Gustav; and grandson, Anthony Borash. Pallbearers will be Daniel Borash, Thomas Borash, Zack Borash, Josh Borash, Becca Scheldorf and Krissy Scheldorf.
