Shirley Happke

Shirley Ann Happke died peacefully at home on July 21, 2017 at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Father David Maciej officiating. Burial will take place in the St. John Nepomuk Parish Cemetery in Lastrup, MN. A visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Monday and from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. A Christian Mothers rosary will be prayed at 4:30 P.M. on Monday followed by parish prayers at 7:00 P.M. all at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN. Shirley was born on June 1, 1941 in Benton County, the daughter of Al and Bertha Jedlicki. She attended country school and graduated from Foley High School with the Class of 1959. After High School, Shirley worked at Little Falls American Motors and later in the Auditor’s office at the Morrison County Courthouse. Shirley met her husband Bob Happke in February of 1960 and they were united in marriage on October 15, 1962 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Morrill. Together they farmed north of Pierz until they retired and later moved to Pierz, MN. In addition to raising their ten children, Shirley was a Christian Mother, 4-H Leader, active parishioner at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup and a member of Hearts of Faith. She loved dancing, bowling, sewing, gardening, flowers, playing cards and setting puzzles with her many grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her cooking, canning and baking which she shared with everyone. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Bob Happke of Pierz, MN; children, Kevin Happke of Pierz, MN, Kelly (Daniel) Gangl of Pierz, MN, Karen (Scott) Schreiber of Kennesaw, GA, Kay (Robert) Mongeau of Toronto, Canada, Keith (Doreen) Happke of Pierz, MN, Kari (Bruce Bachman) Happke of Brainerd, MN, Kent (Stacy) Happke of Pierz, MN, Kyle (Kori) Happke of Pierz, MN, Karla (Tony) Scheel of Rice, MN and Kayla (Jake Hoskins) Happke of Foley, MN; 22 grandchildren; mother, Bertha Jedlicki of Pierz, MN; sisters, Fran (Jay) Wilson of Big Lake, MN, Rosemary (Alan) Moulzolf of Pierz, MN; brothers, Dick (Barb) Jedlicki of Milaca, MN and Ken (Clara) Jedlicki of Morrill, MN as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces & nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Al Jedlicki and brother, Al Jedlicki Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Shirley's name to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup or Holy Trinity Catholic School in Pierz.
