Susan M. Holtslander, 63 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at her home. Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Living Hope Church in Little Falls, MN with Rev. Keith Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Susan “Sue” Marie Holtslander was born on March 3, 1954 to Stanley and Clare “Vonnie” Holtslander in Little Falls, Minnesota, and spent her entire life in the community she loved. She attended Little Falls High School and later Central Lakes Community College in Brainerd. Sue married Gary Dickmann and had four children, Joel, Jason, Jamie, and Jeremy. The couple later divorced. Later, Sue had her fifth child, Michael. She was the best mother. As a single parent, she knew how to stretch a dollar so that her 4 boys never went without. Sue loved her boys and grandchildren and proudly talked about them to whoever would listen. She worked a variety of jobs over her life including, White Shell Group Home, Lutheran Social Services, Central Lakes College, Larson Boats, her own private daycare, and credit approval for Home Depot. She loved the jobs that allowed her to help others and work with the general public. Sue loved people and making new friends wherever she went. She loved to travel and her last job with Home Depot allowed her to fulfill her dream of visiting all 50 states. She also traveled to Europe, which was a bucket list check mark. No matter what was going on in her life, good or bad, her faith in God never wavered. Sue loved the Lord and was happiest when at church, volunteering, and attending adult Bible study. She even had “her seat” that she sat in for services. Sue loved to smile and laugh and make others do the same. She had a zest for life that made you want to sit down and just chat with her. She will be dearly missed by many, family, friends, and all. Sue is survived by father, Stanley Holtslander, Sr. of Little Falls, MN; sons, Jason Dickmann of Little Falls, MN; Jamie (Tracey Smith) Dickmann of St. Cloud, MN; Jeremy (Sara) Dickmann of Little Falls, MN; and Michael (Heidi Samuelson) Holtslander of Becker, MN; siblings, Diane (John) Hawkins of New York Mills, MN; Janice (Butch) Doschka of Randall, MN; Debra (Steve) Kraus of McHenry, IL; David Holtslander of Sartell, MN; Robin Holtslander Quick of McHenry, IL; grandchildren, Alora Smith, Aisha Thompson, Alaina (Zach) Johnson, Ebbaney Thompson, Gracie Dickmann, Jacob Dickmann, Sam Dickmann, and Brody Oltz; great grandchild, Zayden Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Joel Dickmann; mother, Clare Holtslander; siblings, Stanley Holtslander, Jr. and Lloyd Holtslander; and fur baby, Daisy.
