Sylvia M. Stoner

Sylvia M. Stoner, 77 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at CentraCare Health in Long Prairie, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with Father Matthew Langager officiating. Burial will be at Holy Family Parish Cemetery in Belle Prairie, MN. A visitation will take place from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday at Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN and from 10-11 AM on Wednesday at the Church in Belle Prairie. Parish Prayers will be 7 PM Tuesday evening. Sylvia was born on February 23, 1939 in Pike Creek Township, Morrison County, MN to William and Beatta (Blood) Frerich. She attended country school in Pike Creek Township and graduated from Little Falls High School with the Class of 1956. Sylvia was united in marriage to Eugene Haywood Stoner on January 21, 1961 at Holy Family Church in Belle Prairie, MN. During her teen years Sylvia worked for Colonel and Mrs. Rossberg (Camp Ripley Post Commander) at their residence. Upon graduation she worked at the Post Exchange, Installations Office at Camp Ripley, and at the 5th NW National Bank in Minneapolis. She was a stay-at-home mother for 21 years raising six children and becoming the seamstress for the family upholstery business. She then worked at USPFO-MN at Camp Ripley for 20 years and part-time for the Morrison County Record and Walmart. Sylvia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary in Little Falls, MN. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Belle Prairie and was active with the St. Anne's Christian Mother's Society, church choir and past member of the parish council. Sylvia enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku, word find puzzles, board games, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Loretta Welch of Sevierville, TN, Faye (Joseph) Kallis of Randall, MN, sons; Vince (Staci) Stoner, Wayne (Brigette) Stoner, Keith (Lynn) Stoner, and Richard (Becky) Stoner all of Little Falls, MN; 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Lois) Frerich of Batavia, IL, Francis (IlaDean) Frerich of Omaha, NE, Harold (Barb) Frerich of Mora, MN and Roy (Mary) Frerich of Randall, MN; sisters, Dorothy Newman of Brainerd, MN, Carol Wendland of Little Falls, MN, and Stella (Jon) Schwartzwald of Hamilton, MT; many nieces and nephews. Sylvia was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; brothers, Willis Frerich, Roland Frerich, Eugene Frerich and Arlin Frerich; sisters, RoseAnn Armstrong and Shirley Lewandowski; grandson, Douglas Kallis and great granddaughter, Jazzalin Howie. Pallbearers will be Logan Stoner, Travis Stoner, Cody Johnson, Daniel Stoerzinger, Raymond Posterick, Eric Okerman and Cassidy Loveday. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sylvia’s grandchildren.
